Affirmative Market
State agencies and awarding authorities, cities and towns, the federal givernment, prime or general contractors to any of these, and mny large corporations
Business Enterprise
A for-profit company, corporation, trust or partnership.
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise - A for-profit business that has qualified under Federal Regulations 49CFR Part 26. DBE-certified businesses work for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), Massachusetts Highway Department (MHD), the Massachusetts Port Authority (MassPort), the Central Artery/Third Harbor Tunnel (CA/T) Project, as well as local airports and regional transit authorities.
Non-Profit Corporation
A non-profit corporation organized as a 501c(3) or 501c(4). This designation must have been filed for and granted. The non-profit corporation must be Massachusetts incorporated under Chapter 180 and all applicable Massachusetts laws, or registered as a foreign non-profit corporation with the Massachusetts Secretary of State.
Personal Net Worth (PNW)
The net value of assets of an induvidual remaining after total liabilities are deducted. Does not include:
  • The individual's ownership interest in the company
  • The individual's equity in his or her primary residence
W9 - Verification of taxation Reporting Information
The form that enables a state agency to pay the company. Filing it with SDO allows SDO to access the company's vendor file and mark if as certified.
